She’s a worshiper and busker who has felt a clear call from God to lead praise and worship in public spaces. And recently, she stepped out wearing HERD during her busking sessions, not just as an outfit, but as a quiet declaration: I belong to Jesus. In this ambassador feature, we share Kate Torres’s journey, her mission, and why representing faith through Christian apparel and Christian shirts can be more meaningful than we realise.
From a Wedding Song to a Public Calling
Kate’s journey into worship began with a simple request: a friend asked her to sing a worship song at a wedding. She started learning worship songs on guitar for that moment, and it became the beginning of something much bigger.
During early busking sessions, when it felt like no one was listening, she would practice worship songs in between everything else. But people were noticing.
It was during this time that I clearly sensed the Lord calling me to lead worship in public spaces.

Requests started coming in, and as she posted videos online, more people asked for worship. Little by little, her set lists shifted, until worship became the centre of it all.

Why Worship in Public Spaces
For Kate, this isn’t about performance. It’s ministry. As she busked, she witnessed how people were drawn into worship in open spaces, and she felt the Lord confirm it: this is part of her calling.
“The Gospel is not meant to stay inside the four walls of the church. It is meant to go out into the streets.”
Public spaces became her mission field, and worship became her way of proclaiming Jesus where people already are.

Mission as a Worshiper and Busker
Kate describes her mission simply: to share the hope and grace she has received from Jesus with those who need it. Busking is the platform God has given her, and through music she wants to lead people into His presence, reminding them that His love is real, present, and available to everyone, not only the “church crowd.
The Faith Stretch: Trusting God in Uncertainty
Busking comes with uncertainty. No guaranteed income. No permanent spot. No secure contract. But that’s where faith gets refined.
That instability has actually strengthened Kate’s dependence on God as Provider, teaching her to hold opportunities loosely and trust the One who sustains her.
Every session becomes a lived reminder: God is faithful, even when circumstances are not predictable.
Advocacy for Autism and Special Needs
Beyond worship, Kate also advocates for the autism and special needs community, driven by compassion for families walking a similar road to hers. She speaks honestly: raising a child with special needs is not easy, it requires strength, patience, and courage. Through her ministry, she wants families to encounter the same love, comfort, and hope she has found in Jesus.

Her message to young people is bold, honest, and grounded in the Gospel. Jesus died publicly for us. And the Great Commission calls believers to represent Him wherever they are: school, work, business, and beyond.
But she also makes it practical: you don’t have to start big. Faithfulness in small things still glorifies God. Step out. He goes before you.

When she wore HERD while busking, it wasn’t about a photoshoot. It was about showing up in real ministry, in real public spaces, with a real message.
